  Department Of Samhitha Siddhhanta:

This is the department of basic principles in Ayurvedic education. It deals with the origin of Ayurveda, its history, philosophy, principles and fundamentals as found in the classics. The language in which the originial classics of Ayurveda are written - Sanskirt is attached to this department.  The inclusion of language is found in the syllabus of a medical course in the course of Ayurveda apart from Arabic in the sangraha - a classic authored by Acharya Vagbatta containing the 8 organs of Ayurveda in nutshell in brief manner. The subjects like Charaka samhitha both poorvardha and Uttarardha are attached to this department.

Department Of Rachanashareeram
 
This is the department which can be termed as Department of Anatomy. This department deals with the ancient wisdom of our Acharyas regarding the structural considerations of Shareera i.e the body. This department contains the necessary infrastructure facilities for dissection, demonstration etc. This department boasts of 3 cadavers for dissection and also a museum for the specimens. It also possesses histology slides and also equipped with charts and models.

Department Of Kriya Shareeram

This department deals with the functional aspects of our body throuth neuro-humors vata, pitta, and kapha. In short it can be termed as the department related to physiology of humans as envisaged by our ancient Acharyas in their classics. It is the department to which the kriya shaareera laboratory is attached where the clinical tests of blood etc. are taught to the students.

Department Of Dravya Guna

This department which includes Pharmacognosy, pharmacology of herbs, plants and other materials related to medicine. To this department a herbal garden having more than 600 herbs is attached. This department also boasts of herbarium collected by the students in their study tours. It also boasts of dried specimens of 250 varieties. Through this department periodical study tours are conducted for the students both in South India and all over India.

Department Of Rasa Shastra And Bhaisajya Kalpana

This is the Department which deals with the Indian alchemy, pharmaceutics and pharmaco-therapeutics. This department is equipped with required models and drugs as raw materials for conducting of practicals for preparing of medicine as specified in the syllabus. This is department the pharmacy is attached to and the medicines prepared from this department is used in the camps and college hospital. Periodical visits to big manufacturing ayurvedic units are arranged for the students by this department.

Department Of Roga Nidanam

This is the department related to the patho-physiology of the diseases. Ancient methods of diagnosis like nadi-pariiksha (pulse reading), constitution reading, prognostic methods are the highlighting features of this department. A laboratory is attached to this department. Samples from the peripheral camps are collected and used for pathological tests as an aid to teaching pathology.

Department Of Swasthavrtta

This is the department of Social and Preventive medicine highlighting the code of conduct, daily regimen and seasonal regimen and Achara rasayana (code of healthy living) as expounded in the samhitha texts of the Acharyas of Ayurveda in their respective classics. This department includes Yoga and naturopathy. Visits to water treatment  plants, sewage disposal plant, milk pasteurization unit, etc. are organized by this department. Through this department, faculty and students attend to various medical camps conducted by the N.S.S Unit camps in villages.

Department Of Agadatantram And Vyavahara Ayurveda And Vidhi  Vaidyak

This is the Department of Toxicology and forensic medicine. This department deals with the poisonous plants and animals, its origin, its complications, its management  and also about medico- legal aspects. This department contains specimens of  poisonous snakes and other animals. It also contains specimen of toxic substances and plants. It contains herbarium and dried poisonous substances. This department is involved in arranging visits to regional forensic laboratory etc.

Department of Prasoothi Tantram and Stree Roga

This is the department of Obstrectics and Gynaecology teaching the Ante-natal, Internatal, Postnatal care and the health problems of woman. The management of female disorders with non hormonal approach is its speciality. This department possesses charts, specimens, and models depicting the above.

Department of Kaumarabhrithya

It is the Department of neo-natology and paediatric. It deals with child care, food style, and physical and physiological growth of children, its hazards and management.

Department Of Kayachiktsa:

This is the prime branch of Ayurveda related to general medicine on the lines of Ayurveda. It has a unique approach as three different ways of medicine as Deiva Vyapashraya (Treatment through invoking the blessings of the Almighty) Yukthivyapaashraya (Using of medicines and pathya in Ahara and Vihara) And Satvavajaya (Controlling of Mind) to treat somatic and phyco-somatic  disorders.

Department Of Shalya Tantram

It is the subject of surgical methods and approach especially of Aacharya Susrutha - the father of Surgery in the management of surgical cases. This department contains specimen surgical instruments for demonstration to the students.

Department Of Shalayakya Tantram:


This is the department of Ophthalmology and E.N.T. disorders as envisaged in Ayurvedic texts like Akshita Tarpana, Dhumrapana, and Karnapoorna. This department possesses specimen instruments and equipments for demonstration for students.

Department Of Panchakarma:


Panchakarma, said to be the backbone of Ayurveda deals with the special kind of Purificatory methods like Vamana, Virechana, Vasti, Nasya and Raktamokshana. These methods not only gives purification and finds many solutions of unsolved problems in health.
