Department of Maruthuva Thavara iyal :- (Medicinal Botany)
It deals with definition, history and importance of Medicinal plants, Plant Biology, Plant Anatomy, Plantecology and plant tissue culture, plant pharmacology.
We are having a fully equipped Medicinal Botany Laboratory with all infrastructures to study of Medicinal plants including Taxonomy, Morphology, Medicinal uses,
identification etc, and the department is headed by an experienced highly qualified
Teaching Staff.
We are having a very big Herbal Garden containing more than 600 different and rare species of Medicinal plants. Each student prepares herbarium by visiting various herbal gardens and forests of Tamilnadu. |

Department of Marunthu Sei Iyalum, Kalaiyum (Fundamental Principles of Pharmacology and Medicinal preparation)
It deals with the study of all equipments used for medicinal preparation, Internal and External medicine preparations, dispensing pharmacy, Method of Preparations, Drug standardization, Adulteration.
We are having a pharmacy for the preparation of standard siddha medicines. Students are getting practical knowledge in the preparation of Internal and external medicines under the supervision of well qualified experienced doctors. |

Department of Gunapadam:- (Materia Medica)
It deals with study of drugs made out of Herbal Origin; Metals, Minerals and Animal origin with their modern Research applications.
Each student is trained well not only in preparing Siddha medicines like Bhaspams, Chendurams, Thailams, Lehyams, Mathirai, Choornam etc., but the correct purification methods of drugs.
Each student is provided with separate instrument and other requirements to get proper training in purification methods and preparation of medicines.
We are having a museum of Raw Drugs which enhance the knowledge of correct identification of genuine raw drugs. |

Department of Noi Nadal (Pathology)
It
deals with study of Siddha Pathology and Modern Pathology including clinical pathology. Eminent scholars teach about Diagnostic, Methods, viz Envagai Thervugal, Neerkuri - Neikkuri Tests, and also all the modern diagnostic methods of Blood, sputum, urine feaces, Malarial parasite, wucheraria Bancrofti, Widal Test, Vaginal smear, Blood VDRL, Elisa Test - Hbs Ag, AFB, RA Factor, Radiological Tests etc.
More attention is focused on "NADI" Examination for the diagnosis and prognosis of the diseases. We are having full equipped clinical pathology lab with all infrastructures. |

Department of Nunuyit Iyal (Microbiology)
It deals with study of Morphology, growth and nutrition, classification and identification of Bacteria, infection, Resistant to infection. Acquired immunity, systemic Bactereology, Immunology, Mycology, Virology, staining methods, sterilisation and disinfection, culture method and culture media, immunological and serological tests, care and management of experimental animals.
We are having a
well equipped laboratory with all infra structures. Department is handles by highly qualified and experienced doctors. |
