Department of Noi Anugavithi Ozhukkam (Noi - Illaneri and community medicine including National Health policies and statistics)
It deals with preventive and social medicine, urbanisation, Town planning, Industrial occupational disease, its prevention, waste management, Modern Housing and vastu, disposal of dead bodies, electronic cremation, pollution and related diseases, preventive measures of global warming, Air pollution, noise pollution, Rest and sleep, Drinks, nutritious and balanced diet, communicable diseases.
National Health polices, Public Health administration, Siddha concept of prophylaxis, Immunogly and personal Hygine, Field demonstration on water purification plant - infectious diseases.
Special practical training is given to students by visiting milk pasturisation plant, sewage plant and water purification plant etc., |

Department of Sattam Sarntha Maruthuvamum Nanjunoolum (Forensic Medicine & Toxicology)
It deals with Medical evidence, dying declaration, medical certificate,
identity, medicolegal autopsy, medicolegal importance of death, post mortem staining, Exhumation, Asphyxia, wounds, rape, sexual offences, impotence, virginity, pregnancy, abortion, delivery, infanticide, burns and scalds, forensic psychiatry.
It also deals with Toxicology, poisons, remedies in siddha medicine; we are having a museum containing various posionsous substances used for suicide and homicides. |

Department of Pothumaruthuvam (General Medicine)
It deals with study of disease and treatment described by siddhars with correlation with modern diagnosis by clinical, biochemical, radiological investigations.
Emphasis is given to apply the siddha basic principles in diagnosis and treatment of all types of diseases.
Practical training is given to
the students by experienced and highly qualified Doctors. |
